1st - 5th graders speak ITALIAN!!

And who said you had to wait until middle school to learn another language!!

1st - 5th graders are learning music terms associated with loud/soft sounds and fast/slow sounds. Generally, these words are all in Italian in music, so the students have been very excited about learning this second language! Ask your child how many of these words they remember! (Older students have learned more terms than the younger students) Ciao!!

dynamics = loud/soft sounds in a song

tempo = fast/slow sounds in a song

piannissimo = very soft

piano = soft

mezzo piano = medium soft

mezzo forte = medium loud

forte = loud

fortissimo = very loud

crescendo = getting louder

decrescendo = getting softer

presto = very, very fast

allegro = fast

moderato = medium fast

adagio = slow

largo = very very slow

accelerando = getting faster

ritardando = getting slower
