We learned a song called "Leaves" which starts with high sounds and moves down as the leaves fall off the tree to the ground. Then the song goes back up as the wind blows the leaves up. After we learned the song and moved our bodies to it, the students each got an artificial leaf which we moved high and low. Their favorite part of the song was during a part in the middle where they could drop their leaves or blow them in the air!!

High/Low Leaves- 1st
First graders are working hard at learning high and low sounds. This is so important as we are already beginning our first Christmas songs! (yes... I know... Christmas before Halloween! The kids think I'm a bit crazy!!) Being able to follow high and low sounds is essential to singing correct melodies.
