How to make Recorder Playing Sound Clean (Tonguing)

Hey guys!
So far, I've been sharing with you how to play B, A and G.  You should now be able to play a LOT of different songs!  I'll keep posting new play-alongs as I find them.

However, some of you may be struggling to make your notes sound clean.  Maybe some of your notes are sounding squeaky or you feel like you're blowing too much or maybe you're blowing with one big breath and all the notes sound like they're running into eachother.   The solution is something we call "tonguing" in recorder.  It's basically a simple way to stop the air in between each note with your tongue.  Your tongue is going to gently touch the top of your mouth and actually stop the air for a second.  If you whisper the word "doo" (Think Baby Shark!!) your tongue is actually doing exactly what it's supposed to!

Here's a good video example to show you what I'm talking about.  Go ahead and get your recorder and try it!  Good luck!  Once you get familiar with this, you'll naturally start doing this on every note you play and you'll start to notice your songs sound a lot cleaner!  Keep making music!
