Student Teacher Introduction

I am so excited to be working a student teacher from Grand Valley State University this semester!  Our students are in for a real treat as Miss Cusack is already an awesome teacher and brings some great creative ideas and fun energy to our room!  We are very lucky to have her joining us!  Please welcome her to Georgetown if you see her!

Dear Families,

Hello! I am thrilled to be the Student Teacher for Mrs. Bretz this semester. This is my fifth year and final semester at Grand Valley State University. Last semester I was placed in Forest Hills Middle schools from September – October, and then I was lucky enough to finish up my Teacher Assisting in Ourense, Spain. There I taught mostly English as a foreign language class, but also observed a few music classes a week. This experience was incredibly affirming for me that music is an international language and I am so excited to pass this along to your children this semester.

I am the oldest of four girls and will soon gain another sister, a brother, and a half-brother! On May 12th, I am getting married! My fiancé and I love to travel together, and we have a goal to go to every National Park in the US.   In college, I declared Voice as my primary instrument (I am a singer), but I have quite a bit of instrumental experience. I play the ukulele (I have lots of requests from your students for songs to learn), the flute, the piano, and the African drum called the djembe.

Thank you again for allowing to me work with you children. It really is an honor and a privilege to teach music with Mrs. Bretz here in Georgetown!
