5th grade Catches "Cooties"!!

Yes.. you heard it right... 5th grade caught cooties! Cootie catchers that is! Students have been reviewing and studying the four instrument families of the orchestra: brass, percussion, woodwind and strings- in preparation for their Grand Rapids Symphony field trip. They made paper cootie catchers and labeled the tops with all four instrument families. Then they choose 8 instruments which were written in the inside. Under each instrument flap, they wrote a question about that instrument. Students partnered up and "played" with their cootie catchers- asking eachother questions about different instruments! What a fun way to catch the instrument bug!!
