Kindergarten meets Mother Goose!

PreK and Kindergarteners have been learning nursery rhymes and familiar folk tunes/games in music. We've had fun singing songs like "Mary Had A Little Lamb", "Baa Baa Black Sheep" and "Hey Diddle Diddle." We have also played the familiar game song "Farmer in the Dell" and even learned what a dell really is! We even played a circle game to "Mary Had A Little Lamb." Besides the well-known nursery rhymes, we learned a less known Mother Goose rhyme called "The Old Woman of Harrow" about a silly old lady who visits a town in a wheelbarrow!! We had fun acting out the poem and playing instruments with each line. Next week, we will be doing "London Bridge" and other familiar tunes and dancing to "The Mother Goose Bounce". Ask your Kindergartner if they can sing you any of these songs! You could even get the whole family together for a rousing game of "Farmer in the Dell"!! What fun we are having!!
