5th grade preparing for symphony trip!

Our 5th graders are getting excited to go see the Grand Rapids Symphony on Tuesday, February 21. They will be performing at Central Wesleyan in Holland.  We have been studying music history, various composers, the instrument families and the different parts of an orchestra.  We are currently working on artwork to go along with a piece of music called the "Tsar Sultan Suite" by Rimsky-Korsakov based on a Russian fairytale!  The kids have been having fun putting their imaginations to work while drawing parts of the story.  The symphony will choose some of our drawings to be shown at the symphony during the performance!

If you are interested in attending the Grand Rapids Symphony trip, please contact your child's 5th grade teacher.  We are allowed to take 3 chaperones per classroom.
