5th Grade Symphony Trip Coming!

Fifth grade has been learning about instrument families and the orchestra in preparation for our field trip to see the Grand Rapids Symphony!

We will be traveling to Holland to hear the Grand Rapids Symphony perform a special concert specifically for 5th grade students at Central Wesleyan Church.

The field trip is taking place on Tuesday, March 11.
We will be leaving school by 10:15 and returning by 1:00.

You are MORE than welcome to join us for this special concert!
Please let your child's classroom teacher know you are interested in attending.  We do have a limited amount of chaperones we can bring per class, so please be sure to tell your child's teacher as soon as possible.

Students will be treated to a wide variety of classical and modern music.  We have been learning about these different pieces and also learning about different composers.  The student's are really looking forward to Rossini's William Tell Overture (also known as the Lone Ranger theme!) and also Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.  They also created artwork to go along with a modern piece of music based on a set of poems called "Behold the Bold Umbrellaphant."  The symphony will choose favorite artwork to be displayed during the concert!

The students are very excited for such a fun experience!
