Fourth and fifth graders are continuing to work on learning the "Star Spangled Banner." This week, we reviewed the story of how it came to be written and played some games that helped us remember the words and sing it.
PARENTS: Help your child earn bonus music tickets this week! Ask your child to tell you the story of the "Star Spangled Banner." After they tell you the story, come back here to the music blog. Simply leave a comment that they told you the story (Please include your child's name and teacher in your comment). Students... you may also leave a comment! All comments posted between now and Friday will earn three bonus music tickets in class! (If its easier to e-mail me or send a note in with your child, that's fine too!)
TO LEAVE A COMMENT: Go to the very bottom of this post. You will see a link that says "0 Comments." (Once people leave comments, the 0 will change to a different number to reflect how many comments have been made). Simply click on that link and leave your comment. Please include your child's name and teacher's name in the comment so I can give them their tickets!
If you would like to read the story for yourself, check out this awesome interactive site celebrating the "Star Spangled Banner"!!
Here is a shorter account of the story too: Story of the Star Spangled Banner
