LINK UP concert huge success!

Our fourth graders had such a great time at their LINK UP symphony concert! They were so excited to play "Simple Melody" on their recorders along with the symphony. Not only were they wowed by the amazing symphony, but the Mona Shores Drum Line made a surprise appearance as well! The show finished with a rousing version of "Stars and Stripes Forever" complete with a choreographed light show and confetti canons! What a wonderful musical experience!

In their workbooks, there was a journaling page about their experiences at the concert. I asked the class to complete it and to write down their thoughts. Here are some of their responses!

What was it like to visit the Frauenthal Theatre?
  • It was cool
  • It was really cool with all of the chandeliers
  • It was one of the most amazing things ever!
  • It was like being royal and all proper
  • Amazing and beautiful. I liked it because it had good songs and it was loud.
  • It was exciting and fun to listen to other people play
  • I thought it was fun and exciting to be in a fancy theatre

How did it feel to sing and play the recorder? What about performing body percussion?
  • It had a beat to it

What did you notice about the sound of everyone playing and singing togther?
