Georgetown goes to MUSIC CAMP!

For the last few weeks, the music room has been transformed into an outdoor music camp! Students helped color pictures of acorns, leaves, pinecones and even mosquitos which now hang from the ceiling. A tent, camp chair and of course a "real" campfire (compliments of indoorcampfire.com) sit in the corner.

Each class (1st-5th grade) has been divided into 5 teams- "Chippewa", "Iroquois", "Blackfoot", "Apache" and "Kiowa". These are all named after cabins at Camp Pinewood where 5th grade goes to camp each year. The cabins have created a team cheer for themselves and have competed in music camp challenges each week. We have played rhythm basketball, practiced our instrument family archery skills, fished for notes, had a scooter canoe race to song islands, and had a relay music review game. Of course, no camp is complete without camp songs so each day the cabins met around the campfire to learn a new silly camp song. See if they can sing any of them for you!

Here are some highlights from music camp!!
